Video
Over the past few years I have been applying my media skills and involvement in social media projects to create film content for community websites. The demise of mainstream advertising with the rise of advertising on the web has led to a more creative and engaged mode of contact with new customers. Advocacy is now recognised as the most effective relationship with new and existing clients and achieving this relationship can be first created through films.
Adverts alone are not effective and creating film content that is imaginative and develops client loyalty requires the sort of knowledge of social media cotent that I have been reviewing and discussing for many years now. I have been producing the highly effective TM Lewin films for their community websites and these have produced great engagement with their customer base supported by other social media content.
Podcasts
Creating podcasts to support learning events can greatly prolong the life of their content. Turning key note speaches as well as delegate experiences in to audio content available for download has enormous benefits effectively creating a living will of good conversations and moments of collective learning that no longer “die” in the workshop or conference room.
With my skills and experience in broadcasting and facillitation I can enhance the process by helping people tell their stories and gaining their trust. I can also add vox pops and interviews that illustrate specific learning points as well as capturing delegates responses. These can be uploaded alongside the verbatim recording of plenary question and answer sessions and keynote speakers, all of which enhance the validity of the material.
An example of my work in this field was the TFPL Sharepoint event. This is a very popular event for the organisation and they wanted to give a taster of the conference to potential customers. I interviewed delegates for their reaction to the event for an illustrated podcast and filmed selected participants for short interviews. the filmed interviews and the podcasts were then placed on the TFPL website which gave a good clear and accurate review of this learning event. Similarly the Licencees conference on behalf of BTSR at OFCOM,and a BTSR Freelancers evening at BAFTA was required to reach an audience beyond those who could attend within the conference space. By making the debates and the keynote speeches available on a website after the event, the dispersed freelance audience were able to get an accurate flavour of the discussions held and the view points of both delegates and the organisation.
